The SGS online fire door portal is a bespoke survey and audit tool designed to facilitate the safe maintenance and use of fire doors and other related fire safety assets across the school premises.

Developed by The Brand Group, the Fire Door Online Safety Portal was conceived in direct response to the recommendations of Dame Judith Hackitt’s 2018 Building a Safer Future report following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

This report called for systemic changes to improve fire safety, particularly in high-rise and complex buildings, advocating for simpler, outcome-based solutions rather than prescriptive rules.

The SGS fire door portal provides real-time, date-stamped survey results, offering instant access to vital fire safety data, such as fire door ratings, the condition of intumescent strips, signage, and door closers. All supported with photographic representations of safety related content.

This transparency and accessibility help in enhancing safety by providing stakeholders with up-to-date information, improving scheduling and staff allocation for safety checks and ongoing maintenance.

The portal supports the Golden Thread concept, which emphasises 7 key points to maintaining clear, accessible information throughout a building’s lifecycle.

1. Information transparency

2. Digital documentation

3. Standardised data formats

4. Lifecycle management

5. Regulatory compliance

6. Fostering a culture of accountability

7. Continuous improvement in building safety.

The SGS online fore door portal aims to deliver a continuous, auditable digital record that underpins accountability, supports regulatory compliance, and evidences the school's rigorous approach to fire safety diligence.

Please note:

This portal is NOT a fire risk assessment tool; users are advised to hire qualified fire safety consultants for formal assessments to ensure compliance and mitigate fire hazards effectively.
